Rawalpindi district is one of the thirty six districts of Punjab province in Pakistan. With an area of about 5,286 square kilometres, the district had a population of 7,127,798 inhabitants as of August 2014. The district has the major Rawalpindi city and is divided into seven tehsils (second-lowest tier of government) including Taxila, Kallar Seydan and Murree. The major crops of the district include wheat, barley, maize and millets.
